It's not enough to hear you say you love me

It's not enough for you to say you need me

It's not enough to hear you say you want me

I need to feel it; you need to show it

Knowing is not enough if the feeling isn't there

Love needs to be expressed; needs to be shown

More than just a word; more than just a phrase

If all you do is speak it, how do you share it?

Repeating the phrase every day; never backing them with actions

I'm here day by day; though sometimes you don't see me

I try to get you to see me; to notice that I'm here

I cry, you look, give a kiss then turn away

words are not enough; but that is what you give

You don't understand why I act like I do

Can't understand why; why I don't want to stay
